El caballero quiere despedirse de Sancho el Fuerte, fallecido unos d\u00edas antes tras un largo reinado de cuarenta a\u00f1os. Ttipia es la \u00faltima persona que conoce el verdadero motivo por el que el soberano vasc\u00f3n no acudi\u00f3 en socorro de Vitoria cuando la Navarra mar\u00edtima fue invadida por las tropas castellanas de Alfonso VIII en la primavera del a\u00f1o 1199.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As\u00ed comienza una historia que narra la conquista a sangre y fuego que sufrieron los territorios de \u00c1lava, Guip\u00fazcoa y el Duranguesado a manos de Castilla. Y especialmente el dur\u00edsimo cerco al que someti\u00f3 Alfonso VIII a Vitoria durante ocho meses. Mientras Ttipia y los vitorianos resist\u00edan al mayor ej\u00e9rcito de la pen\u00ednsula Ib\u00e9rica, \u00bfd\u00f3nde se encontraba el rey? \u00bfPor qu\u00e9 Sancho el Fuerte no defendi\u00f3 la Navarra mar\u00edtima con la espada en la mano?
